ANUSHA: WHAT'S IN A NAME?

Anusha is a very rare female first name and an even rarer surname. It has not been in the top 1000 names at least in the last 15 years, according to the US SSA (Social Security Administration).
The name is pronounced Anu-sha. It is primarily a Hindu or a South Asian name. Literally translated, it means “beautiful morning”, “a star”, or “the first rays of the sun at dawn”. She is also the name of a great beauty, or a goddess. She is“one with great ego, but loved by all”.
In Hindu astronomy, there is a star named Anusha.

It also has a biblical meaning. It is from the name Anna, which itself has various forms. Anna or Anne means “grace”. The Biblical name Anna is actually a Greek name, translated from the original Hebrew name Hannah. Hannah also means “grace”. Ann a lived in Jerusalem. She was the daughter of Phanuel of Asher (the name of a tribe). She was a prophet in her time. When she grew to be an old woman, she saw the infant Jesus, and she recognized him as the Messiah. (Luke 2:36, 37)

Anusha is also a “Bath-based online boutique”. It was started about a year ago, and specializes in exotic feminine products.

Anusha Dandekar is becoming a famous indian actress. She was born on January 1, 1982 in Sudan. She was brought up in Sydney, Australia. She is now a Bollywood Actress and has acted in movies such as, Anthony Kaun Hai (2006); Viruddh (2005), and in Mumbai Matinee (2003).

Anusha is also the title of a book, “Anusha – a homeless life in Sri Lanka”, by Yke Berkhouwer. The story of a family in Sri Lanka.
